Why Lily's
A real person picks your tutor. Then a real tutor teaches your kid.
We help your child with algorithms but don't use them to find a tutor match. There is no revolving door of contractors. We meet your student where they are, academically and otherwise, and pair them with someone who fits.
Human matching. Every intake is personally reviewed by Lily. You'll know your tutor's name, background, and approach before session one. Personalized support from day one.
Tutors with degrees. Every tutor is vetted for subject expertise and selected for how they explain. Tutors across math, science, writing, and SAT prep hold degrees in their field.
Hacking Your Potential. Our executive functioning track teaches planning, focus, and follow-through the invisible curriculum.
Progress you can see. Your tutor keeps you updated on where your student stands and what comes next.

What changes when students get the right tutoring assistance
What changes when students get the right tutoring assistance
Every learner is different.
Some students need someone to help rebuild foundational skills in math.
Others need tools, tips, resources, confidence reinforcement and strategies to get through a tough semester of classes, preparing for finals and exams.
Some just need access a guide who explains things more clearly than a classroom teacher ever had time to.
Whatever the subject, the right tutor makes it click.

What changes when students get the right tutoring assistance
Ready to find your student the right tutor?

Lets start with a complimentary call. We'll talk about the subject requested for tutoring, the grade your child has, what your student is struggling with in their classes, and what's already been tried. That conversation helps us understand their goals and choose the right match.
Most families are ready to hire a tutor and get their first appointment scheduled within 7-10 days of reaching out.
We offer a variety of tutoring services designed for different learners and different needs.
Math tutoring is our most-requested, and our expert tutors cover everything from Pre-Algebra through Calc III.
We also run a dedicated writing center track for students who need help with essays, research papers, and college applications.
In addition, we provide tutoring for SAT prep, physics and science, statistics, and executive functioning.
Our tutoring services are effective because they are built around the individual student, not a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
Every tutor on our team is chosen for their ability to explain clearly, build confidence, and help students actually learn the material rather than memorize it for exams. That approach makes a real difference in the classroom.
Online tutoring happens over Zoom. In-person tutoring is available at your home or a nearby location across central Maryland (subject to tutor availability). Both options give students access to the same expert tutors and the same quality of support. We provide session notes and additional resources after each tutoring session so students have what they need to keep making progress between meetings.
We are located in Towson, MD and serve families across Baltimore County, Howard County, Anne Arundel County, Montgomery County, and Prince George's County. Contact us by phone, email, or through the form on this page. If you are interested in getting started, the free consultation is the right first step. There is no pressure, no commitment, and no process more complicated than a conversation.

Common Questions
Everything parents ask about tutoring services on the first call.
What ages and grade levels do you tutor?
We work with students from 6th grade through college. Most of our families come to us in middle and high school, but we have tutors who specialize in college-level math, physics, and writing for academic success.
How much do sessions cost?
Sessions run $75–$125 per hour depending on the subject and tutor experience level. Rates are transparent so you'll know exactly what you're paying before you start, and there are no packages to buy upfront.
Are sessions virtual or in-person?
We offer both in-person tutoring and high-quality virtual sessions. During onboarding we'll determine which option will work best with your child and our tutor's.
Do you offer in-home tutoring in Maryland?
Yes. Our tutors provide in-person tutoring at your home or a nearby location (subject to tutor's schedule and availability) across Baltimore County, Howard County, Anne Arundel County, and Montgomery County. Online tutoring is also available for students anywhere in Maryland or nationwide.
How do you match tutors to students?
Lily reviews every intake and hand-picks a tutor based on subject, grade level, learning style, and personality fit. If the first match isn't right, we re-match at no cost.
What is "Hacking Your Potential"?
It's our executive functioning track for students who are smart but disorganized — the kids who lose assignments, study the wrong things, or spiral the night before a test. We teach planning, time management, and self-advocacy alongside (or instead of) subject tutoring.
Do you tutor college students at UMD or other universities?
Yes. We work with college students at UMD, UMBC, Towson University, and other Maryland campuses. Whether it's calculus, statistics, physics, or writing for a college course, our tutors have the subject depth to help at the university level.
How quickly can we start?
Most families have their first session within 5–7 days of the initial consult. If you're facing a midterm or test next week, tell us and we'll do our best to expedite the process. This is all subject to tutor availability of course.
Do you prep for the SAT, ACT, and APs?
SAT prep is one of our most-requested tutoring services. We offer score-targeted plans, full-length practice tests using official College Board materials, and review built around your student's specific gaps. We also support AP Calc AB/BC, AP Stats, AP Precalc, and AP Physics. We do not offer ACT prep at this time.
How often do students meet with their tutor?
Most students meet weekly for 60 or 90 minutes. Some bump up to twice a week before a big test or during a tough unit. We'll recommend a cadence after the first session and adjust as needed.
Do you offer group tutoring or study groups?
We focus on one-on-one tutoring because we believe personalized attention gets better results than study groups for most learners. That said, reach out and we can discuss what format makes sense for your student's goals.
What if it's not working out?
Tell us. We'd rather re-match than have a student stuck with the wrong tutor. There's no contract, you pay session-by-session, and you can pause or stop anytime.
