The tutor sets the pace from what your kid actually knows, which is how a one on one tutor can surface a learning gap in a session or two that a full classroom rarely has time to catch. That is the whole case for personalized learning: the hour adapts to the student.

Group tutoring splits an hour among everyone in the room, while one on one tutoring spends the whole session on one student’s learning gaps, so it suits a student whose problem is a specific gap or a confidence issue more than general practice. You can book a single session and judge it yourself before committing to anything.
Every subject is taught one on one. Math from Pre-Algebra through college calculus and differential equations, including honors and AP statistics, plus SAT prep, writing from middle school essays through graduate and professional work, executive functioning, and physics through intro-college courses. If your student’s course falls in that range, ask - odds are good we have a tutor who covers it every week.
We tutor students from 6th grade through college. Most families come to us with middle school and high school students, and we also support college students in math, statistics, physics, and writing. Executive functioning is built for older teens and adults. Elementary math and other subjects are available by request, so ask on the consult call.
You name the class, and Lily picks from the roster herself: the tutor who knows that course cold and whose personality fits your student. You’ll know your tutor’s name and the courses they cover before the first session, and if the fit isn’t right, tell us and we’ll re-match.
Both, in person or online, and we’ll recommend the right format on the consult call. Online tutoring over Zoom reaches students across Maryland and beyond, while in-person runs in central Maryland (Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Howard County), depending on each tutor’s schedule.

Generally, students meet with their tutors for 1 hour per week. Both frequency and duration can vary based on exams and deadlines. Sessions can last up to two hours, in 15-minute increments, and be as frequent as three times a week or as occasional as once a month. Since there are no contracts, you can book the sessions you need when you need them.
Yes. Even in subject tutoring, the academic support runs alongside the math or the essay, so tutors work on how to study while they teach the content.
